Ensembles
The Texas State University Choral Department has established itself as one of the leading choral programs in the United States.
Texas State Ensembles have performed at both regional and national American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) conventions, Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) conventions, international venues including the Forbidden City Concert Hall, Beijing, China; Saint George's Cathedral, Cape Town, South Africa and the Conservatory of Brataslava, Czech Republic.
Recent highlights include performances of the Robert Levin completion of the Mozart Requiem with Dr. Levin in residence, the J.S. Bach Saint John Passion under the direction of Artist-in-residence Craig Hella Johnson, and the world premiere of American composer John Conahan's setting of Allen Ginsberg's epic poem HOWL.
Fall 2024 choir auditions
Auditions for choral ensembles will be held Sunday-Tuesday, August 25-27. Registration for auditions will open August 15!
